My name is Heather Youl, I live on the rainy west coast in Vancouver Canada where Birkenstock’s and wool socks are worn in conjunction without shame, where Lulu’s and other athletic gear is acceptable attire at 5 star restaurants and where its common place to drink Starbucks while cruising Burrard Street in a Evo Prius. All joking aside, BC is a beautiful place filled with generous people who care for the environment and each other.

I originally studied Outdoor Recreation Management at a local university, but felt it didn’t fill that desire for something more. Life took me to many places, many homes and other provinces, eventually landing me at a regional ecology center and nature reserve. I loved it. I loved being a part of a organization which strove to educate the public about nature and preservation of the environment. I was hooked. After returning to BC, I started university again studying and then graduating from Simon Fraser University with a BA in Environmental Geography. I love understanding how and why people and societies interact and impact the environment, and I feel that once you can understand those drivers, we (you and I) can help increase environmental protection.

After graduating from university I decided that I wanted to create a company and a blog which helped my clients and readers cultivate a more symbiotic relationship with nature. Using information, education and action to produce real, measurable results in lessening their ecological footprints. Using customized methods which are sensitive to the most complex of lifestyles, my clients achieve success in their sustainability goals.

I look forward to working with all of you in the future, creating a peaceful and greener existence which is full of life, compassion and laughter.

– With care, Heather
